3. Intensive Cleaning

Materials required for intensive cleaning

1 x SystemFlush

1 x SystemFlush Plus

1 x UltraShock

1 x AnorganicShock

1 x pH-Minus granulate

1 x Teststripes

1 x FilterClean Natural

1 x elektronic pH tester

Caution: You cannot use the whirlpool during intensive cleaning.

You can do the basic cleaning with your used water in the spa. It should be at least 36 °C warm.

Part 1

First add the SystemFlush bottle and the SystemFlush Plus can to the water. Increase the filtration time to a minimum of 12 hours per day. The longer you filter, the better the cleaning. Switch the pumps on and off several times a day for about half a minute. Clean the filters daily with our filter cleaner and a filter flosser.

Please note: Foam formation is very strong.

This process can last several days. This depends on the dirt in the pipes. You can stop this cleaning process if no more dirt accumulates in the filter. Due to the high pH value, hard water can lead to sandy / stony lime deposits. These limescale deposits are removed in the next cleaning step.

Please do not lower the pH value under any circumstances.

Please note that the high pH value can irritate the skin. Either wear rubber gloves when changing the filters or wash your hands thoroughly and apply cream immediately afterwards.

Part 2

Then empty the whirlpool and refill it. When emptying, flush the pipes through the nozzles with a garden hose. The water no longer needs to be heated.

Please always add UltraShock and AnorganicShock powder to the water in equal parts. The Anorganic Shock powder will increase the pH value..

Lower the pH value permanently to 5.0 to 6.0.

You can also use any commercially available pH reducer for this purpose.

If you have limescale deposits from the first cleaning step, you must lower the pH value to 5.0 until the limescale has completely disappeared.

The chlorine value should be at least 10 mg/l permanently.

How do you measure this because the test stripes only go up to 2 mg/l?

Take 100 ml of water from the whirlpool with a measuring cup and fill it up to 500 ml with tap water. Then measure with the test stripes. The value should then not be less than 2 mg/l. The shock value can also be above 10 mg/l.

You have to find out the amount of UltraShock and AnorganicShock. It depends on the amount of deposits in the pipes. It can happen in extreme cases that you have to add 500 ml UltraShock and 500 ml (5 measuring cups) AnorganicShock to the water.

Recommendation: (Measurements per 1000 litres water content) 200 ml UltraShock and 2 x 100 ml measuring cups Start AnorganicShock

Do not use the whirlpool during the cleaning period and make sure to change the water after cleaning.

FAQ Intensive Cleaning

How does this cleaning process work?

First cleaning cycle:

SystemFlush and SystemFlush Plus contain special cleaning agents that dissolve fats and deposits. The dissolved fats are then saponified. This allows them to be filtered out.

Second cleaning cycle:

UltraShock penetrates the biofilms and eliminates the bacteria inside. This prevents or slows down the repeated growth of the biofilms (caused by the bacteria they contain). It loosens and loosens the biofilms from the pipe walls.

The AnorganicShock oxidizes all deposits in the pipes from the outside and thus breaks down the biofilms. However, it only works effectively with a shock agent content of at least 10 mg/l.

How can I tell if the cleaning was successful?

This can best be seen from the fact that the shock agent level no longer drops. As long as it sinks, it can be assumed that there are still deposits in the pipes that use up the shock agents.

In addition, the water remains clear even when the pumps are turned on. If there are many impurities and oxidants in the water, the water becomes cloudy when swirled.

How long should I clean with UltraShock and AnorganicShock?

We recommend a minimum of 4 days. The longer the cleaning agents can work, the better the dirt will be removed from the pipes.

In the case of very heavy soiling, this cleaning can take 1 to 2 weeks and a lot of Ultrashock and Anorganic Shock must be added to the water.

With this treatment you do not need to heat up the water. It is also not necessary to clean the filters, unless dirt gathers in the filter again.

After successful cleaning, drain the water and refill the spa.

It is not unusual for flakes to still be present after intensive basic cleaning and for the ultrashock content to drop rapidly.

The Intensive Cleansing dissolves and rinses out many deposits. But there is no guarantee that everything will come out 100%. Especially the deposits in the air pipes (every water nozzle also has an air pipe) are very resistant because the air pipes cannot be flushed.

Therefore it is important to keep the UltraShock level permanently between 0.5 and 2.0 mg/l for the first two months after intensive cleaning. The amount of SpaBalancer added can be reduced to 30% of the prescribed amount during this time. Due to the permanent UltraShock content, residual deposits in the pipes are oxidized and disappear.

After 2 months you can return to the normal water care instructions.

However, do the UltraShock test every 4 weeks: Add 50 ml UltraShock per 1000 litres of water (please do not bathe before as it has a negative effect on the test result) to the water and measure the UltraShock content 12 hours later. You should then still be able to measure 0.1 to 0.3 mg/l. If you can no longer measure anything, deposits have formed again. In this case, increase the amount of UltraShock you add weekly and after each bath until the UltraShock test is successful.

WARNING

Due to the high dosage of the AnorganicShock, discoloration can occur in the plastic of the cushions and nozzles and filters and other plastic parts. If possible, remove the cushions. Close the insulation cover at the earliest 10 minutes after adding the agents. We do not assume any guarantee for possible damage.
